The Class of 2025, they are halfway there… Whoah, What?
It feels like yesterday that I was planning a back to school party for my son, Jackson, and his friends to celebrate the beginning of the school year and kindergarten! “Class of 2025” was my theme and it seemed so far away at the time. And yet today, I just watched Jackson and his friends, in a promotion ceremony leaving elementary school to embark on the next journey, middle school.
I am a bit teary eyed as I write this because of like so many experiences as a parent, my kids are ready for the next thing before I am. I have reminded myself over and over again that I cannot hold them back, their goals are too big and important even though I want to scream and plead, “What, I am not ready!”
At the ceremony today, Jackson spoke beautifully to the audience about one of his favorite experiences, Colonial Day. He was articulate and full of confidence in front of so many people. I was beaming with pride.
Does anyone want to bet if I will recreate these gift boxes filled with school supplies for the big graduation in 2025? “Yes” is the safe bet. I would make them and donate them. Any excuse to buy school supplies! Stay tuned…
