My top picks for summer fashion, accessories and essentials to help you ready for your best summer ever!
Hooray for new fun items from JCrew. If you live in Washington, DC as I do, you can’t own enough sleeveless tops to help combat the heat and humidity in the summer. I can’t wait to try this on.
Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy
So, I picked this up the other day at Bath and Body Works, and I am obsessed. The lotion feels and smells so good. I don’t know if it is helping me de-stress or sleep better, but it is “sparking joy”!
Ditto. The body scrub is great!
This is the “perfect” White linen shirt to add to your collection. I have already worn it several times. I love that it doesn’t have the buttons down the front, making it ideal for layering a few long necklaces. This one from Tiffany is so pretty.
Maybe You Should Talk to Someone
This is my #1 book recommendation for summer. It is ideal for anyone who has ever gone to therapy or thought about going to therapy or was curious about the process of how therapy is delivered. So, bottom line, everyone! It is laugh out loud funny and a total page-turner. I couldn’t put this book down!
For those who love a good suspense novel, this book is for you. It has a fantastic twist at the end that I didn’t see coming (neither did my dad). Another page turner – don’t start unless you have time to read cover to cover!
I know everyone loves LuLu Lemon for work out clothing and I think they have some great pieces but, I must tell you I love a simple white tank (shocking I know!). I keep my working out clothing simple and, I buy in build. I create a “uniform” if you will. so it is one less decision to make but can still look put together on the go.
I have a navy blue skirt similar to this one my dad bought for me for my birthday a few years ago. I wear it with a tank like the one above. It is simple and classic, and I love the mix of the “casual” and the “dressy” – not to the extreme but you get the idea. This is a “go-to” combination for traveling. It makes a great outfit post beach/pool but before getting ready and going to dinner outfit.
One of my friends just sent me a surprise gift in the mail that included these pens, and I am obsessed! They are felt tip if you are a pen snob like I am. I will walk all the way down to my office if I am upstairs to get a “good” pen when writing my daily to-do list. It has to be done with a pen I like! I also think this is a cute idea, along with a check for a graduate. Just a little something in addition to money so you have something to wrap.
I have a ring similar to this from Tiffany, and I just saw this new version with the ladybug. How fun for summer. You know I love a good statement ring!
Summer may be for reading and lounging but, it is also for planning and achieving big goals. I love this large journal with blank pages, so I have plenty of room to write everything I want to get done down. You know my motto, “Lead, Follow, or Get out of My Way!”
Hermes Un Jardin sur la Lagune
So, a 20% discount at Sephora adds to an already existing problem I have with wanting almost everything in the store. I am mortified every time the cheerful woman at the check out register announces, “Oh, you have 3,500 points. Would you like a free gift.” I usually say “no,” so I can exit as quickly as possible! I feel like she just shared my addiction with a minimum of 10 strangers as that is typically how long the line is at Sephora! Anyway, I love fragrances by Hermes, and this one doesn’t disappoint. It is light and fresh and perfect for summer. It also comes in a small bottle so minimum commitment.
Replica Beach Walk Roller Ball Perfume
I bought a big bottle of this last year and let me tell you this perfume lives up to its name. It is impossible not to smile and feel like you are beach bound for the day, even if you are headed to work. I love the rollerball option for summer travel. I pop it in my purse for my last trip.
Natura Bisse Oxygen Face Cream
I discovered this like during my recent spring break trip. This cream is perfect for summer, moisturizing but not heavy.
You probably have a great brown belt in your closet already, but this is a great way to dress up the skirt and white shirt.
And lastly,
My list would not be complete without a new White dress. Also, I love this one which for some reason to me looks darling for a graduation party!
