As you may recall from my blog post a few years ago, I used to dread March. I mean DREAD, like some people dread the dentist or tax day. Outside of the fact that St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated in March, and, to be honest, a holiday that only requires having a few drinks and celebrating is refreshing, the month is long. By March, I am sick of the cold weather and my gray sweaters. I am tired of wearing a jacket and my sanity has been tested by countless snow days.
But, some of my thoughts on March have changed. Yup, that is right! I have rebranded March! I now consider March my challenge month. Now, when March approaches I think what are some new things I can do to get outside my comfort zone. Why the drastic change in my feels toward March you may be asking. Well, that list changed my life. Two years ago, as I mentioned in this blog, attending a yoga class was so far outside my comfort zone, I might as well been on a different planet. But, I tried it and keep going. And now, a few years later, I love yoga so much I teach it.
So, now when March rolls around I think back on all the progress I have made and my mind starts to race with thoughts on trying even more new things. March now equates to opportunity to me. The best part, there is nothing standing in my way. 31 days to experience and explore and change my life.
So, if celebrating St. Patrick’s Day or the opportunity to try new things and get outside of your comfort zone is on your list too, here are a few ideas to make it extraordinary!
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in style…
